THE CAUSE: SUPPORTING OUR XC SKI COMMUNITY

Fundrace 2020 goal is to raise funds to support elite Junior ski racers from the National Capital area who are bound to the World Championships.

What is unique about Fundrace 2020:
All proceeds from the event will be awarded to athletes.
– Co-hosting partnership rotated between local ski clubs to engage all.
– Parents can form teams with kids for a fun family affair..

Did you know?:
– The 2020 World Junior and U23 Championships will be held in held in Oberwiesenthal,
Germany, 28 Feb – 8 Mar 2020. To just go there, our Canadian athletes must
pay $3,500 prior to departure from Canada.

A bit of history:
– This will be the 6th time XCCM has organized this fundraiser race!
– It all started in winter 2013, with both the 2013 and 2014 edition of the Masters For Juniors Time Trial being held in the Gatineau Park.
– Team sprints were introduced with the 2015 edition of M4J, held at Nakkertok South when we raised $3600.
– In 2018, renamed Fundrace, it moved to Chelsea Nordiq at Centre Meredith.
– Last year, Skinouk agreed to co-host what was our most successful FundRace to
date, raising $5,000!
